Persuasive Speech on Pollution Pollution is one of the biggest challenges faced by the world today. All the countries are adopting more and more laws on pollution reduction. Still, governmental actions cannot guarantee the complete elimination of this problem. The main thing is to make all the ordinary people understand the importance of this issue and to make them respect the environment they live in. The main types of pollution are water pollution, air pollution, soil pollution and sound pollution. All of them are harmful to peoples health. The latest technological advances have been often making people forget about the existing problems. Use of many different fertilizers and other chemicals in agriculture and other food industries can cause serious illnesses though, and we should never forget about that. Increase in the number of vehicles in cities is one of the main reasons for air pollution. The engines emit carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide which are very harmful both for health and the atmosphere. It is about time everyone woke up and worked as a single cohesive unit against the pollution. Being aware of its bad effects has to be more than enough to work on pollution reduction. Planting more and more green plants is a very good option to bring back the resource-use equilibrium. No matter what the governments do, the main action should come from people. This is the only way to stop the spread of pollution from destroying our home

For the past decades Climate change/ global warming has gained the attention of scientist because of the studies and experiments show how climate change can have catastrophically impacts in our planet and that we are starting to see today. Global climate change is a phenomenon caused by greenhouse gases trapped in the atmosphere which produce enormous effects on the earth’s organisms, nature and all habitats. By burning fossil fuels and by cutting forests known as deforestation humans contribute to global warming. Burning fossil fuels causes more greenhouse gases to build up in the atmosphere. Fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gas are high in carbon and, when burned, produce major amounts of carbon dioxide. When humans burn coal, oil, and fossil fuels to generate electricity or drive our cars, carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere, where it traps heat. There is direct evidence of human contribution to atmospheric CO2. Carbon dioxide is the main heat-trapping gas largely responsible for most of the average warming over the past decade and since humans are the ones who used carbon dioxide for the everyday life, humans are the main contribution to it. Caused most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the past decades arming and that natural changes alone cannot explain the temperature changes that we have seen for the past decades in the entire planet. In the autobiography â€Å"Coming of age in Mississippi† by Anne Moody known as Essie Mae in the book she writes in great detail the struggles her and other people of her color had to go through in order to gain their rights. From such a young age she saw the differences in the way people of color were treated in comparison to whites, things that no one should go through much less a kid. From the beginning you see that Essie Mae is such a brilliant kid and all the trials she goes through and the knowledge and fire instilled in her leads her to be such a powerful activist in the fight for black equality. I think that at such an early age she started to notice the differences between people of color and whites. One incident that happened that led to her to questioning was an incident at the theater where the blacks would have to seat in the balcony and whites could seat in the bottom level but when they were at the theater they sat her â€Å"white friends â€Å"there so Essi e and her brother and sister followed them to the bottom level. Creative writing: My Dog Essay Over the past several months, my family and I noticed that Molly, our 12-year-old dog, had progressively become more torpid about the house and outside. At first, we thought something was wrong. We believed that she had come down with some sort of sickness. After a while, we came to our senses and deduced that it was probably just old age. Then, she stopped eating. Again, our natural intuition told us wrong, as we figured that it was just a stomach bug, nothing deleterious. Before this time, I had always felt that Molly was a young, vivacious, cheerful, and gregarious member of our family. I began to feel that she was mortal just like the all of us, as her degradation continued. We took her to the vet for an inspection, still supposing it was just a bug, or she was not feeling well, such that this would not be chronic, but only fleeting. I was busy the next several days while my mom had checked her into the vet, and soon became relaxed as I forgot about Molly over the next several days. Then, one night, it all changed. As I was passing through the house with my girlfriend, as on any other normal, carefree, Friday night of the summer, my mom stopped us both and told us we should sit down. I almost instantly knew the topic of conversation would be my beloved younger sister. I could tell by the way that my mom drew in her breath before even uttering a word that our little girl was more than just sick. I had always wondered what life would be like without her. I would have to shove that thought away, it was so painful at the time. Some people may say that dogs are just pets, and nothing more. Well, in our family, she had been a part of us since we moved into this house almost twelve years ago. Very few memories of mine can I recall, in which I cannot recall having her at the time. Our special one, my parents third child, had a kidney disorder, which would give a shelf life to her. The vet said that she might last another year, but she needed emergency treatment right now. Although I knew what my mom had said before she said it, I was appalled at hearing the actual words come out of her mouth. Molly spent another several days in the pet hospital, having IVs inserted into her, to cleanse her blood. She came back the next day, with life in her, as I had not seen in years. She jumped and played as if it were the first day we had her again. However, this magical fountain of youth, was short-lived. She morphed before our eyes over the next 3 days back into Old Molly, as if a spell had worn its time, as if the clock struck midnight, and the carriage reverted into the pumpkin. Just even a few days ago, as I walked into the den, Molly growled at me as if I was a stranger, from across the living room. My guess was that her eyesight had been debilitated so much that she could not even tell who I was, until I spoke. My only hope for her, or more for me, is that she will last another ten or eleven months, so that I can get to college before she passes on, as I know that death is now inevitable for her. I used to hope that she would be the old lethargic dog at Grandmas house. That someday that my children would pet, and ask about the days when she would run about the yard, and run away but always ending up on the front porch. By her example, I now realize the mortality of us all, not just pets.
